COMING SOON to the Main Gallery: Amar Gupta “Isolate” opens March 7th

Take in brand new exhibitions at The Art Studio, Inc. on the first Saturday of each month! Join us Saturday March 7th, 7-10pm for the opening reception of

“Isolate”
by Amar Gupta
in the Main Gallery

Amar Gupta is a large format photographer based out of Southeast Texas.
Gupta seeks abstract connections within his photography—a collection of colors, lines, shapes and forms that tell a story which can not be conveyed by words.

Gupta’s most recent contemporary abstract series; Isolate, questions the limits of the photographic medium by distorting images through precise color gradient manipulation.

This unique process creates an image that relates more closely to first and second generation abstract expressionists. Gupta’s interest in extreme photographic manipulation was born out of the belief that creation within photography is limitless. This notion stands in stark contrast to the expected function of a camera, which is to truthfully document reality.

Isolate overcomes these boundaries of normalcy, and, within it, one will discover a seamless connection between the essential mediums of painting and photography, and unearth impressions provoked by the prevalence of creativity over media constraint.

“Isolate” will run concurrently with another solo exhibition by Justin LeBlanc titled “Flowers” in the Art Studio’s Maudee Gallery. Both exhibitions will open on Saturday, March 7th with a public reception from 7pm until 10pm. The reception is free to attend and refreshments are provided. Both artists will be in attendance.

The artwork will be on view during TASI’s regular hours (Tuesdays through Saturdays from 12pm-5pm) until March 27th. There is no admission fee to visit The Art Studio and its galleries.
