I could not be happier with our arts communities, working together and supporting each other through especially difficult times.
The arts organizations and other non-profit organizations have and are providing something more than just fun and games. Through the light of creativity, we give comfort to humanity. Our efforts, through the written and spoken word, through theatre, music, visual arts, and mental health/arts programs gives our broader community the chance to find what treasures they might share and what discipline they might choose as a path toward happiness, or at least smug satisfaction. We are, in a way, giving people a space to do something in the visual, literary, or performing arts out of a real need to express what we hold inside. To all those who “don’t have a creative bone in my body” I’ve never found anyone who didn’t make great work. Bones are not creative- minds are! Find some peace with art, or at least a non-essential aggravation.
