Art-making Comes Alive During Quarantine

Miniature lotus blossoms by James Allen King.

Our members and tenants have not been sitting on their hands during this time. Here is a short list of links to work they have live video-streamed recently.

James Allen King was working his magic with art glass to make a handsome honeycomb with bumble bee.

Here is Sara Lydia Tuell’s video of her working on a still life in charcoal.

Nathan Yellow-Jones made multiple videos of his progress on his landscape and figure painting “Sunset Venus 3”.

Tenant Victor Higginbotham has now installed his work “IRL” (in real life) at The Country Collection Boutique.

Tenant Stephen Edward Rousset, was featured in The Beaumont Enterprise and the article was placed on the Associated Press and eventually featured on US News and World Report.

TASI member, Peter Nguyen, is keeping busy painting black and white commissioned portraits. This one was requested in honor an early victim of the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States.

Tenant, Elizabeth Fontenot, shot a time-lapse video of her progress on an oil painting.

We realize that many artists in our community have been active and doing LIVE videos but these are just a sampling. If you want to be featured on a future update of this page please email admin@artstudio.org with a link. Thanks for reading and stay safe and keep on creating!
