Art Studio, Inc. hosts community garage sale fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 13, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.
BEAUMONT —“One person’s trash may another person’s treasure”—is a refrain we’ve all heard before and for you and The Art Studio, Inc., it just might be true.
The Studio is hosting a community “Garage Sale” Saturday, August 13, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the main gallery at it’s 720 Franklin location in downtown Beaumont.
The one day event is an opportunity for TASI, tenant artists and community members to get rid of unwanted, but usable, items as a charitable donation to The Studio.
“We have unneeded art supplies, art work, tools, craft materials, photography equipment, sound equipment, books and many, many other things that the studio does not have a use for or that we need,” Olivia Busceme, board member said. “This a great way to clear out some clutter and raise money for the Studio at the same time.”
Community members can also donate unwanted items with proceeds going to the studio. Anything not sold, will be offered to local chapters of Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
“There are some pretty great and rare items like darkroom film enlargers, art supplies of all kinds and tons of artwork,” Busceme said.
Items to be donated to the sale can be dropped at the Studio during regular hours Tuesday through Thursday, 2 p.m.-5 p.m. or by appointment by calling 409-838-5393. Community members are encouraged to call or email the studio to if they have questions about any items they want to donate for the sale.
