Join instructor Karey Richard for an inclusive art lesson! Participate in adaptive art projects that anyone can enjoy, created especially for budding artists with special needs, and their siblings! Feel free to contact us in advance to prepare for any specific needs or adaptive tools that would be especially helpful. All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the class. All ages 8+.

Third Friday of each month, 6-8pm

Drop-ins welcome as space allows.


During the four sessions over two weekends, photographer James Blaign Rambo will teach beginner-level students the ins and outs of using a film camera, developing images in the darkroom, and printing black and white photographs. The class includes an outing to capture photos outdoors and students will keep their own prints as well as digital scans of their photographs. Chemicals will stain clothes, please dress accordingly. Ages 18+ only.

All materials provided – but students may bring their own 35mm film camera if they wish.


Over the course of six sessions, students will learn handbuilding techniques in clay, as well as glazing and raku firing, from expert ceramist Greg Busceme. Take home your very own ceramic creations at the end of the course! No prior experience needed, this is a beginner level class.

$100 per student (for 6 sessions)
All materials will be provided.


Learn all the basics of painting from still life as well as color theory and everything in between with your instructor Virginia Johnson. This class is designed for beginners to intermediates in the art of painting, ages 18 and up. Students will be practicing with acrylics on paper and canvas. Recommended to bring an apron or clothes you don’t mind getting stained.

All materials will be provided for use in the classroom.


Learn the basics of painting with watercolor, including color theory and technique, from instructor Virginia Johnson. This three-hour class session is designed for beginners in the art of watercolor, ages 13 and up. Recommended to bring an apron or clothes you don’t mind getting stained.

Do you have a teen with a serious desire to make art? This six-session course will provide essential lessons in ceramics to introduce your young person to essential know-how including handbuilding techniques in clay, the science of glazing, and a live raku firing experience! This class is for ages 13 – 17 ONLY

Learn how to throw on the pottery wheel from an experienced artist! Two three-hours sessions in the clay studio will offer demonstrations of technique, familiarity with commonly used tools, and time to begin practicing newfound skills. Hand-building classes or some prior clay experience is recommended before taking this class! Ages 18+ only.

Each student is advised to bring their own set of tools – this Kemper tool set is highly recommended.
Some tool sets will be available for purchase via TASI. Otherwise, tools will be shared between students.

Thoughtcrime LIVE poetry group with Dorothy Sells Clover

See and meet a special guest artist each month at this open group for poets and appreciators, led by author Dorothy Sells Clover! Join us in the TASI classroom on the 2nd Friday. All are welcome, no registration necessary. $5 entry fee.


TASI Life Drawing Group will return on September 6!

Life Drawing Group normally meets every Wednesday in TASI’s classroom. Bring your own drawing supplies and join us for an uninstructed practice in drawing with a live model. All levels of artists welcomed to participate, no registration needed. Ages 18+ only.
